We also need cars parked in the back parking lot with “Trunks of Treats”. If you would like to decorate your trunk with fall décor or pumpkins that would add to the fun. Your support and help would be greatly appreciated.
WMU October 13th @ 5:30 Come help us make boxes to prepare for Operation Christmas Child, then we will have our meeting beginning at 6:30. Shannette has given us some great studies on the mission fields of Kentucky and other parts of the US. Come join in to see what is happening in far-away countries that your mission dollars support. Also, we have been ask to participate monthly in a program to provide our newest neighbor, Morning Point, the love and the work of the Lord. I'm so excited that the Lord is opening doors for us to serve right here in our own back door (and front door). We have plans to make and I don't want anyone to miss out on these blessings. We can't make you come but we can make you sorry you missed out. Remember, Dr. Kay says, if you can't do missions where you live, you can't do missions anywhere. Jackie Gibson, WMU Director
The Bucket Project Continues! The Bucket Project is continuing through November, 2016. As a church, we collected monies and items and took 2 filled buckets from Gethsemane to the state annual WMU Meeting in Madisonville, KY in March of this year. There were a total of 3,500 buckets collected, prayed over and dedicated at the meeting. The Kentucky Baptist Convention has joined with WMU and is helping with this ministry. The next bucket drop off will be in Florence, KY in November at the annual Kentucky Baptist Convention Meeting. We have already collected enough money to fill 2 buckets and those buckets will be taken and donated in memory of Sue Gordon. There are buckets along with a list of items to be collected in our hallway by the office. If you feel led to donate money, put it in a church envelope and designate it for "The Bucket Project" and leave it at the church office or in the collection plate when the offering is collected.
